November wasn’t such a great reading month for me.
Actually, to be honest, I haven’t read much at all in the last several months, which is part of the reason I don’t post very often anymore (sorry about that, guys).
I only read 4 books, and one of them barely counts. To me, at least.
Winter by Marissa Meyer (5 stars) – I really loved this book. It was a stellar conclusion to a stellar series. I have a whole review of it already up on this blog that you can read here.
Lord of the Flies by William Golding (3 stars) – This book was… interesting, to say the least. I found it more than a little disturbing, and I was not impressed by the writing- what little information I got was practically thrown at me. There was a lot of complicated symbolism that after a while I began to appreciate. And I did like the concept. To see my full length review on Goodreads click here.
Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander (J.K. Rowling) (3 stars) – It’s hard to rate and review this book, because it was less like a work of fiction and much more like a textbook. Which is what it is. It was full of interesting information, but it was presented in a bland textbook-like manner that made it hard to focus on and rememeber.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (5 stars) – I can’t even write cohesive thoughts on SJM’s books. If you’ve read the others in the series (which are great) then you should read this one too. It definitely delivers. I just posted a review of it that you can see here.
So that’s my reading month- not super impressive, I know. But I really enjoyed all 4 of the books I read. I’m hoping to get out of this freaking slump and get some real reading done for December!
